Directions from Thornton le dale
Get onto the A170 heading East towards Scarborough, go through Pickering & continue on the A170 until you reach Thornton-le-dale.
Go down the hill into the village, past the garage, take the left turn that is sign posted to Dalby Forest.
Keep following the Dalby Forest signs, to their toll gate -
If there is a forestry commission member of staff on the toll please stop and inform them that you are a customer of Ability Outdoors, they will ask the name that your group is booked under and let you through, you do not need to pay.
– They will not give you directions –please take these with you.
Continue down to the visitors centre, from here you follow the forest drive for ABOUT 7 MILES until you see Dixons Hollow car park on your left.
This is where you will park and we will be there to meet you in our minibus at the agreed time.
Directions from Scarborough
From Scarborough head to Scalby Village, go through the village and head east towards Suffield. Go straight through Suffield until you get to Hackness.
From Hackness head towards Langdale End, keep following the road until you come to the Toll entrance to Dalby Forest.

PLEASE NOTE – It takes around 15mins to get from the Dalby Toll gate to Dixons Hollow car park, please allow enough time.
The activity site is a 10 min minibus drive from the car-park, please ensure you vehicle is securely locked and nothing of value is left on display.
Vehicles are left at the owner’s risk, neither Ability Outdoors nor the Forestry Commission except any liability if your vehicle is damaged or stolen.
